It contains several places to craft, gather water and team with others. The town is usually filled with zombies and players alike, but the chests will help a newly-spawned player survive for a relatively long period of time. However, there is a high risk of bandits and desperate players that come from nearby towns, such as Romero; many experienced players advise to stay for only brief periods of time unless you are ready for a fight. The chests will often contain basic weapons, gear, bottles, food, and bandages. Some chests are located in hard-to-reach places. If you fall into the water it may be hard to get back into to the town, but there is a spot by the stalls with a convenient ladder to get back up. The vines and ladders in Carmi are very useful against zombies chasing you. The Carmi Lighthouses surround the city on nearby islands. Player zombies may get caught in the flow at the sewer gates. Get close to them so their loot doesn t get flushed! Be careful when exiting the towers. It is easy to be ambushed from a small hole in the bottom corner of certain towers. Carmi tends to have a very high population of players condensed into a very small city, meaning the few chests in Carmi will be taken very often. The loot here is debatably worth waiting for, but it may be worth considering the trip to nearby Romero for more abundantly available chests. The top of the Tower in Carmi (the small one) can be used to avoid zombies and other players. You can use the fact that there is only one ladder leading to the top as an advantage over bandits or other players that might want to attack you, should you choose to defend this ladder. Also, aside from the trapped chest, no zombies spawn here. Many anti-bandit groups come to Carmi from the north because of the fact that it is a large spawn point, but smaller than Portsmouth and Romero. It is also relatively easy to defend because of the towers. These groups can be both a blessing and a curse because they will protect new players, but should they see you as a threat for any reason they will kill you. If you find yourself getting low on health, You could go east and go to Grandfather s Curse, or west along the bridge to Romero which both have health potions. If you should choose to be a bandit, there is a sniping position by the entrance coming from the east, in the Tower to the south west. Very rarely, a zombie will spawn in the crane allowing you to enter for free. Carmi is a great place to bandit if you are a newly spawned player in interest of some chain/iron equipment, as many people farm the crane and sewer mil_rares. If you are on one of the Watchtowers nearby Carmi, bandits may try to knock you off the ledge. Be careful. There are no civ_hospital chests here, so unless you have a group of friends that can heal you, long stays aren t advised Trivia(top) The large ship seen on the picture is no longer present. It is known as the Ghost Ship and its location changes often. There are 2 mil_rare chests in the crane. One of the chests can be reached by a bit of parkour, but the other will require a single button; a pressure plate will let you back out of the room. The inside of the crane is full of note blocks. Most of these are useless, but one of them can be played (and tuned).
